The Dolby Digital Thunderclap - Overused Sound Effect

There is a stock thunder sound effect that is notoriously overused by film and television sound designers. It's been nicknamed the Dolby Digital Thunderclap, after it's prominent use at the start of the first trailer premiering the Dolby Digital sound format in 1992.
